About our church
Orange Evangelical Church (OEC) commenced meeting on the 14th September, 1995, with approximately 50 members. OEC was begun by local people and is an Independent church. As such we have no formal links with any existing denomination. However we do have informal links with a number of other independent evangelical churches across Australia who fellowship as the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC).
‘Evangelical’ simply means Bible and Gospel centred. The Bible is God’s word and is the basis of our ministry. God works through his word (the Bible) by His Spirit building us up and setting the agenda for everything we do. The Bible is Christ centred and so we seek to honour Jesus by calling people to repentance and faith in Him. OEC is a gathering of God’s people committed to taking His message, with His help, to the city of Orange and beyond.
